The Secretary-General of Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP), Élvio Sousa, highlighted the social support provided by the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber in recent years. This includes over 4.4 million euros in scholarships and approximately 350,000 euros in aid for medications.
Sousa also mentioned the program supporting minor surgeries, which received 811,000 euros and has helped remove 263 families from waiting lists since 2019. He emphasized that "the true legacy of Santa Cruz is social work," contrasting JPP's priorities with those of the Regional Government, which he claims prioritizes golf investments.
The JPP leader also criticized the Regional Government's lack of willingness for a program contract with the municipality and official visits that do not include local elected officials.
