The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has revealed plans for the "Madeira-Autonomy Agenda 2027-2047," a long-term development project for the region.
The announcement was made during the Festa do Povo, where JPP Secretary-General Élvio Sousa criticized the current Regional Government, blaming it for the high cost of living and inaction in areas like health and housing.
Sousa argued that only a reformist party, rooted in Madeira and independent of Lisbon, can effectively address the island's issues for families, workers, and businesses, proposing constitutional review, a new agricultural system, and a distinct fiscal regime.
