The JPP party traveled to Tenerife at the invitation of the European Democratic Party (PDE) to consolidate a working front with its MEPs.
The main objective of the meeting was to secure the commitment of European parliamentarians in advocating, within the European Parliament, for increased European Union support for the Outermost Regions (ORs), with a particular focus on maritime mobility for people and goods.
The JPP presented proposals to strengthen European mechanisms for maritime transport support, aiming for competitive passenger costs and the creation of a "maritime highway" for regular Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) connections, considered strategic for the cohesion of the ORs.
