Deputies from Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) have submitted a proposal to the Legislative Assembly of Madeira (ALRAM) for an urgent review of the Cooperation Protocol between the Regional Government and the Public Security Police (PSP).
The aim is to update the amount of revenue from road traffic violations, seen as essential for enhancing the PSP's operational capabilities in the region. The party argues that the 2006 protocol requires updating after 20 years to meet new demands.
JPP suggests increasing the percentage of fines collected in Madeira, to be allocated to the purchase of vehicles, equipment, technological modernization, and improvements to infrastructure and working conditions for PSP professionals.
