A landslide occurred this afternoon on the São Vicente–Porto Moniz Expressway, in the Seixal area of Madeira, impacting at least three vehicles and reportedly injuring four people, according to unofficial information.
The mayor of Porto Moniz stated that one victim was taken to Porto Moniz and three others to São Vicente. The expressway is currently closed to traffic in the affected area.
Volunteer firefighters from São Vicente and Porto Moniz responded to the incident and are on site. The mayor had previously identified the area as critical and warned of the need for intervention along the road connecting São Vicente and Porto Moniz.
