Lar Margô, located in São Martinho, Madeira, is the only Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI) in the region managed by a limited liability company. The facility, operational since February 2024 with a capacity for 20 residents, was visited by the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, Paula Margarido.
Licensed and supervised by the Madeira Social Security Institute, Lar Margô focuses on an individualized care model, considering each resident's life story, habits, and autonomy. The institution offers medical care, permanent nursing, physiotherapy, personalized nutrition, and daily living support.
Lar Margô accommodates Madeiran residents, returning emigrants, and foreigners, promoting active aging activities, intergenerational projects, and community engagement. Administrator Cândida Carvalho emphasized that "in this house, we are all family," while Paula Margarido highlighted the importance of "placing the person at the center of the care provided."
