Repair work has commenced at D. Manuel I Square, situated in the area formerly known as Campo do Duque and opposite Funchal Cathedral.
The works aim to restore a severely degraded iron grate that posed a fall hazard to pedestrians. The area has been cordoned off by municipal workers.
These operations require specialized technical skills and safety protocols. While underway, there is no estimated completion date.
