Five nurses from the Regional Medical Emergency Service (SEMER) have completed the Manchester Triage System Instructor Course. This certification grants the Autonomous Region of Madeira its own capacity to train and requalify professionals in this crucial area.
The Training Centre for Emergency and Civil Protection will now be able to internally provide training, qualification, and updates for nurses working in the Telephone Triage and Counselling Service (STAT). This new capability strengthens the self-sufficiency of the Regional Civil Protection Service, IP-RAM (SRPC, IP-RAM), reducing reliance on external entities.
The Manchester Triage System, part of the PROCIV MADEIRA 3.0 Strategy, allows for remote clinical assessment and prioritization of care. The in-house training aims to standardize procedures, disseminate knowledge, and ensure the long-term sustainability of training, thereby enhancing the Regional Medical Emergency System's capabilities.
