Thursday, June 30th, will bring periods of very cloudy skies to the island of Madeira. The Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for hot weather in mountainous areas, effective until 6 PM on Friday.
Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 29°C in Madeira and 26°C in Porto Santo, with lows of 21°C on both islands. The temperature increase will be most noticeable in higher elevations. Winds will be light to moderate from the Northeast, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h.
The capital, Funchal, also anticipates very cloudy skies and light winds, under 15 km/h. Coastal waters on the north coast will see Northeast waves of about 1 meter, while the south coast will experience waves under 1 meter.
