The island of Madeira will host the 28th edition of the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most significant international competitions for spirits. This event marks Portugal's debut in hosting the competition.
The contest will take place from October 16th to 18th at the Pestana Casino Park Hotel in Funchal. Over 2,300 spirits from approximately 70 countries and territories will compete, including regional products like Madeira's poncha and rum. The event will feature more than 100 international judges, who are specialists in the field.
Regional Government President Miguel Albuquerque will attend the opening ceremony. Portugal is among the most represented countries, with over 230 entries, alongside Brazil and Angola, accounting for about 10% of the total competing products.
