The Regional Government of Madeira has announced significant changes to the Property Recovery Programme (PRID), increasing the available financial support for homeowners.
The maximum grant for standard rehabilitation, repair, improvement, and adaptation works has been raised from €20,000 to €35,000. For more extensive works necessitated by natural disasters such as storms, fires, or other catastrophic events, the maximum support level has increased from €50,000 to €70,000, subject to appropriate justification.
Revised rules also widen eligibility by increasing household income thresholds and simplify the application process. For the first time, PRID funding can be combined with other public housing or energy-efficiency grants, provided the same works are not financed twice. The measure aims to make larger-scale rehabilitation projects more financially viable.
