The President of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, Rubina Leal, met with the President of the Portuguese Competition Authority, Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, to discuss mobility challenges for island residents.
The meeting focused on the impact of rising airfares on families in the Autonomous Region and the importance of territorial continuity, which aims to offset additional travel costs to the mainland.
Both officials stressed the need for effective competition in the aviation sector to ensure fair pricing and consumer protection, reinforcing institutional cooperation.
