The archipelago of Madeira will be under a yellow alert on Thursday and Friday due to a forecast of hot weather, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The alert, the least severe of a three-level scale, will be in effect between 9:00 AM on Thursday and 6:00 PM on Friday, due to the persistence of high maximum temperatures.
For Thursday, IPMA forecasts very cloudy skies in Madeira, becoming generally slightly cloudy from the afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the east, with dust in suspension from the afternoon and a slight increase in maximum temperatures. Temperatures in Funchal will range between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius, and in Porto Santo between 21 and 27 degrees.
