The Regional Government of Madeira has appointed two new advisors to the Madeiran Diaspora Council. Eugénio Perregil will represent Madeirans in the United Kingdom, while Paulo Ferreira will take up the position for the United States.
The appointments were published in the Official Gazette, following a resolution signed by Miguel Albuquerque. The decision was made during the government council meeting on July 15.
With these additions, the representation for South Africa is reduced to three advisors, following the death of José Luiz Silva in May, with no replacement appointed.
The Madeiran Diaspora Council aims to ensure the active involvement of Madeiran communities abroad in shaping the region's migration policy. The new advisors will be formally introduced at the Madeira Global Forum, to be held at the Madeira Congress Centre.
