The Regional Government of Madeira has strengthened financial support for the Program for the Recovery of Degraded Properties (PRID), increased income limits for access, and simplified the application process. The publication of the first amendment to the program's regulations in the Official Gazette brings significant changes.
The maximum support for small-scale recovery, rehabilitation, or adaptation works has risen from 20,000 to 35,000 euros. For larger interventions resulting from adverse weather, catastrophes, calamities, or fires, the amount increases from 50,000 to 70,000 euros, subject to justification.
The new ordinance reduces the required documentation, allows the accumulation of PRID with other public housing or energy efficiency support (provided they do not fund the same intervention), and broadens eligibility criteria to cover more families. Since the program's inception, approximately 500 households have benefited from this support, representing an annual investment of about one million euros.
