A statement from APRAM, the Port Administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, revealed that ports from the Outermost Regions (ORs) have advanced this week in the process of creating an Association of OR Ports.
This initiative, aimed at structuring and continuing the joint work developed over the past year, resulted from a working meeting in Las Palmas. The decision received support from the Canary Islands Government, which acknowledged the importance of strengthening cooperation and promoting a unified stance towards European institutions.
Madeira, through APRAM, has actively participated in this process, contributing to the analysis of common challenges and the development of joint positions. The future association will bring together port authorities from Portugal, Spain, and France, representing various ports in these regions.
