PSD MP Bruno Macedo, speaking in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, emphasized the rise in financial transfers allocated to the region in the proposed State Budget for 2027. Macedo believes these figures reflect the positive outcomes of dialogue between the Regional and Republic governments.
Comparing previous PS budgets with recent proposals, the social democrat noted that the average annual transfers have increased from approximately 255 million to 369 million euros. "This clearly shows how things can be done when there are good results and parties engage in dialogue," he stated, viewing the current proposal as a positive commitment to Madeira.
Macedo criticized past socialist governments for failing to address structural issues in the region, such as air services and transport. While acknowledging the advancements in the budget proposal, he stressed that "demands remain to be met" and assured that the PSD will continue to advocate for Madeira's interests.
