PTP Denounces Exclusion of Bankless Beneficiaries from Territorial Continuity Mechanism

The Portuguese Labour Party (PTP) has denounced that beneficiaries without their own bank accounts are being prevented from receiving reimbursements under the Territorial Continuity Mechanism, formerly known as the Mobility Social Subsidy.

This exclusion occurs because applicants cannot provide proof of an IBAN solely in their name, a requirement imposed by the platform's internal procedures, under Ordinance No. 138/2025/1.

The PTP states that this situation primarily affects the elderly who receive pensions via postal orders and low-income social benefit recipients, who lack alternative cash or CTT counter payment options. The party is requesting clarification from the Regional Government, the urgent creation of an alternative payment procedure, and the possibility of validation by proxy or a direct family member.
