Rui Silva, president of the Municipal Assembly of São Vicente, called for greater "elevation, responsibility, and respect" in the council's political confrontations.
During the Solemn Session celebrating São Vicente's 282nd anniversary, Silva emphasized the importance of political plurality and the debate of ideas, stressing that it must always occur with respect for institutions and citizens.
He reminded attendees that the municipality's interests should take precedence over partisan differences, uniting elected officials in their commitment to serve São Vicente and its population. The anniversary was also seen as an opportunity to assess past work and plan for the future.
