The municipality of Santa Cruz has recorded over 3,600 beneficiaries in health programs promoted by the Institute of Health Administration (IASaúde), making it the second municipality with the highest number of supported residents, after Funchal.
The data was released on the day Santa Cruz celebrated its 511th anniversary. According to IASaúde, these figures "demonstrate the impact of measures implemented by the Regional Government of Madeira, which has been reinforcing support in the health sector."
Programs such as the Baby Kit, which supported over 1,600 newborns with a €600 voucher, and '+Visão Crianças e Jovens' (Vision for Children and Youth), which assisted over 980 young people and 470 seniors with subsidies for prescription glasses, are prominent in the municipality. Oral health was also addressed by the '+Sorriso' (Smile) program, benefiting over 520 children and young people.
