CDS proposes revision of works regulation to simplify house legalization in Câmara de Lobos

The CDS-PP party argues that the revision of Câmara de Lobos' Municipal Regulation for Building and Urbanization should go beyond administrative simplification and serve as a crucial opportunity to respond to the housing crisis.

Lídio Aguiar, president of the Municipal Political Commission, proposes faster, clearer, and less bureaucratic procedures for small works and the legalization of existing properties, considering the current housing stock and market costs.

Aguiar clarifies that simplification does not mean disregarding safety, urban, or environmental rules, but aims to provide legal security to owners, recognize property value, and increase the municipality's property tax revenue. The party also suggests the local council enhance technical support and guidance for residents.
