Independent councillor in the Funchal Municipal Chamber (CMF), Jorge Afonso Freitas, has questioned the lack of responses to 55 questions concerning the framework and future urban planning of the Amparo area.
Freitas emphasized the importance of the matter for Funchal's urban future, demanding concrete clarifications. He also highlighted the need for coordination with Madeira's Regional Land Use Planning Program (PROTRAM), advocating for coherence, transparency, and legal certainty in urban planning decisions.
The councillor also recalled Miguel Albuquerque's past stance on the Tecnopolo Urbanization Plan, questioning if the current situation mirrors what Albuquerque previously contested. Freitas asserts that the Municipality of Funchal must preserve its decision-making capacity regarding its territory.
