The Electronic Complaint System allows non-urgent crime reports to be filed online with the GNR and PSP, simplifying the process for residents in Portugal.

Electronic Complaint System: File Police Reports Online from Home

The GNR and PSP offer the Electronic Complaint System, an online platform enabling citizens to file complaints or report certain crimes without needing to visit a police station. This virtual service is for situations that are not emergencies and do not require immediate intervention from authorities.

The system is available to identified individuals, both Portuguese citizens and foreign residents in national territory. It allows for recording the incident, submitting data, and tracking the report's status. Crimes such as theft, robbery, damage, fraud, simple assault, domestic violence, and aiding illegal immigration are covered under Ordinance No. 1593/2007.

It is crucial not to use the Electronic Complaint System for ongoing crimes, imminent danger, or situations requiring urgent intervention; in such cases, contact 112. For crimes not covered by the platform or when police presence is needed, traditional methods of filing complaints remain available.
