MP Jéssica Teles stated that "those who work at sea must have legal certainty and clearly know the rules." The JPP highlights the tradition of salting and drying 'gaiado' (skipjack tuna) in Caniçal, questioning if current legislation adequately addresses family and community practices without commercial intent. They emphasize that any solution must ensure compliance with fishing, traceability, and food safety regulations.
