The Portuguese government is preparing a new support mission for Venezuela, scheduled for September or October, focused on reconstructing areas most affected by a recent tragedy.
This was announced by the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities, Emídio Sousa, who is coordinating with Venezuelan authorities to define priority intervention sectors. Portugal has already responded to the crisis in three phases, including search and rescue teams and humanitarian aid.
The next phase of Portuguese support will involve companies in the reconstruction of housing, infrastructure, and energy networks, with housing recovery as a key priority. Funding will be mobilized through international mechanisms, including support from the World Bank and donor countries.
