Santa Cruz Accuses Regional Government of "Underinvestment" and Announces 240 Homes

The Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber disputes statements made by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, regarding housing in the municipality. The council accuses the regional executive of prolonged "underinvestment" in the area.

In response, Santa Cruz has presented measures that, according to the council, could create approximately 240 homes through public-private partnerships. The municipality also criticized the Regional Government's announcement of 80 houses, considering it a promise for now, as land acquisition and construction are still pending.

The statement from the Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber also mentions a debt inherited from previous PSD municipal administrations, which will affect investment capacity until 2034. The council is preparing a new loan of 13 million euros to cover past liabilities.
