The University of Madeira (UMa) will host the final seminar of the European MathIA project on September 14th. This initiative, spanning three years, aims to explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance mathematics teaching and learning for adolescent students.
The event, held at the Penteada University Campus, will present the project's outcomes and discuss the future of the developed tools and methodologies. Funded by the Erasmus+ program, MathIA seeks to create an AI model applicable to teaching mathematical skills and includes the development of training courses. The consortium involves universities from Portugal, Spain, and Italy, along with the company COMENIUS IDI.
The seminar will feature academic and regional authorities, including UMa's rector, Sílvio Fernandes, and the regional secretary for Education, Elsa Fernandes. Discussions will cover AI challenges in education and its impact, with panels and roundtables involving researchers and partner institution representatives. Admission is free for all interested individuals.
