Lexus LFA: The Handcrafted Toyota That Defied Expectations

The Lexus LFA, a limited-production supercar, stood out for its complex engineering and attention to detail, challenging Toyota's traditional image.

Launched in 2010, the Lexus LFA was a statement of principles from Toyota, presenting itself as an expensive, complex, and limited-production supercar, handcrafted with unique technical solutions.

Equipped with a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine developed in partnership with Yamaha, the LFA produced 560 horsepower and was notable for its sharp sound and the need for a digital display to track its high RPMs.

Featuring a structure with a carbon fiber central cell, the LFA was assembled by a select team of technicians, with only 500 units produced between 2010 and 2012. Its original price was around 375,000 euros, but its value lies more in its engineering feat and technological ambition than commercial profitability.
