Chalet Vicente Reopens with New Concept After €600,000 Investment

Businessman Renato Vieira has invested approximately €600,000 in the renovation of the Chalet Vicente restaurant in Funchal. The project, which lasted seven months following the property's purchase last December, has led to a complete refurbishment of the space located in the hotel district.

With 17 years of experience in the restaurant sector, Vieira, alongside his son Gonçalo, expands his portfolio which already includes Carvão Grill and Carvão Rooftop. The new Chalet Vicente employs around 30 staff, bringing the group's total workforce to 78.

The restaurant, with a capacity for approximately 200 people including private rooms and a wine cellar, focuses on traditional Portuguese and Madeiran cuisine with a signature touch. New features include a private cigar lounge and a wine cellar/tavern offering tapas and a wine club. The businessman emphasized the importance of the local market, despite tourism's significant role in the restaurant industry.
